Creative Sheffield is Sheffield City Council’s economic development function, focusing on business growth, enterprise and the economy. Our responsibilities fall into 4 main areas:
Business Growth – through inward investment and indigenous investment support activity we drive growth in Sheffield’s key sectors, providing key account management services for major local employers, boosting international relations and trade activity, acting as the city’s interface with developers and providing HR support for investors.
Enterprise – we promote a culture of enterprise across the city by providing targeted support to start-ups and SMEs with growth potential, supporting growth of the social enterprise sector, working to embed enterprise in wider neighbourhood regeneration and ensuring a sustainable pipeline of managed workspace in the city.
Strategic Development and Funding – we work to develop new forms of regeneration and finance, supporting ongoing work with property developers, shaping and advising on major schemes, ensuring an appropriate supply of office and industrial development.
Economic Strategy – we shape the city’s economic policy, supporting elected council members with economic intelligence, and promoting high level skills in the economy.
