The Global Manufacturing Festival: Sheffield, which took place in March 2011 brought together industry, customers, government and media to discuss opportunities for continued long term growth including access to finance, regulations, investment, the UK Skills shortage, access to buyers and best practice etc.
In its first year, the festival attracted 2,000 delegates from across the UK and beyond; achieved extensive media coverage through national, regional and trade media in 41 different titles; and comprised a series of focussed events, workshops, company visits, exhibitions and conferences.
Speakers included, the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg – Senior representatives from Siemens VAI, EDF Energy, Westinghouse, IMechE, The Financial Times, Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets and the British Bankers Association. Major sponsors included Nabarro LLP, Firth Rixson and Tata Steel.
